NFL Draft Grades: Breaking Down All 32 Teams' Performances

Evaluating the Winners and Losers After Three Days of Selections

By Chad Reuter, Senior NFL Draft Analyst

The 2023 NFL Draft has come to a close, and it's time to hand out grades for all 32 teams. After three days and seven rounds of selections, plenty of teams have made their mark. Here's a breakdown of the winners and losers:

Top Grades:

  • Carolina Panthers: The Panthers had an incredible draft, landing potential stars at multiple positions, including quarterback CJ Stroud and wide receiver Josh Downs.
  • Tennessee Titans: The Titans addressed their biggest needs, selecting a dynamic playmaker in wide receiver Rashee Rice and a pass-rusher in Byron Young.
  • Baltimore Ravens: The Ravens reloaded their defense with impact players, such as edge rusher Nolan Smith and safety Brannon Hill.

Bottom Grades:

  • New York Jets: The Jets failed to address their biggest need at quarterback, and their picks were mostly uninspiring.
  • Green Bay Packers: The Packers made a series of questionable decisions, including trading up for a quarterback in the first round.
  • Chicago Bears: The Bears had a disappointing draft, lacking both star power and depth.

Overall, the 2023 NFL Draft was a mixed bag. Some teams made excellent decisions and landed potential stars, while others struggled to find value. It will be interesting to see how these grades hold up in the years to come.
